WITH AN ADULT
HAN TOTS (10 MONTHS TO 20 MONTHS)
An adult is required to stay inside the classroom. These classes are designed for a 100% immersion in Mandarin. We do not use baby language and this is NOT a playgroup. We do not sing many songs because Mandarin is a tonal language! The students will learn to speak Mandarin like a native from the get go! We pack each structured class with stimulating activities with daily life relatable themes! We change the theme every six weeks; just long enough for children to retain the material.
PRESCHOOL PREP
A caregiver must stay at Planet Han the entire class time.
18-30 months old Preschool Prep (must register for at least twice a week)
This is a 90-minute class for 18-30months old who are transitioning to our drop off preschool program. This is a mini preschool where we follow a condensed version of the preschool structure.
This class provides a 100% immersion in Mandarin. Students can switch to drop off preschool any time once they can separate without tears. Students are required to attend twice a week. Topics include colors, my body, my family, my school, weather, seasons and other fundamental themes.

PRESCHOOL ALTERNATIVE

2, 3 years old. Must register for at least twice a week. This class is drop off.
This class provides a 100% immersion in Mandarin. They learn the Chinese language, math, science, and nature through songs, movement and colorful visuals in a warm and nurturing environment. We paint, cook, sing and speak! Stories are always the highlight of the class while the children enjoy the provided snacks!
Typical Day: The 3s are engaged in more advanced curriculum including Chinese characters recognition and tracing.

NON FLUENT 3 – 5 YEARS OLD
All classes are drop off.
3-5 (IMMERSION)
This class is drop off.
This is a class where the teacher speaks 100% Mandarin. The main purpose of this course is further development of oral communication and understanding. Simple reading and writing are introduced through games and other children’s learning materials. The children will learn to speak in more complex sentences.
NON FLUENT 5 – 8 YEARS OLD
All classes are drop off.
5-8 (IMMERSION; STUDENTS OVER 6 MUST HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF PINYIN OR ALSO SIGNED UP FOR PINYIN CLASS)
This class is drop off.
This is a class where the teacher speaks 100% Mandarin. The main purpose of this course is oral communication and understanding. Reading and writing is introduced through games and children’s learning materials. They interact with each other in Mandarin and have a degree of fluency and spontaneity. The children enhance their speaking skills through show and tell, situational conversations, poem recitations and story composition. Homework will be given regularly.
NON FLUENT 9 – 12 YEARS OLD
All classes are drop off.

9-12 (IMMERSION; STUDENTS MUST HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF PINYIN OR ALSO SIGNED UP FOR PINYIN CLASS)
This class is drop off.
This is a class where the teacher speaks 100% Mandarin. Students are expected to engage smoothly in Chinese dialogue. They can communicate with confidence about daily events and other topics of interest to them. This class is taught using a more traditional approach and a textbook may be used to supplement our teaching. In every class, we feature our weekly dialogue where students practice speaking and acting!
FLUENT 3 – 5 YEARS OLD
FL-1 (FLUENT CORE LANGUAGE LEVEL 1; RECOMMENDED AGE: 3-5 YEARS OLD)
This class is drop off.
This course is designed for fluent speakers who are not yet writing. Each week, we will introduce a short rhyme or poem through games and other activities. Fun games are played to engage and encourage students to recognizing Chinese characters. Simple writing, math concepts and patterns will be introduced. Required weekly homework will include memorizing and reciting class materials, forming sentences verbally and recognizing 10 Chinese characters. Optional writing homework will be given to those who are ready to write. There must be someone at home who can support the student’s homework and supplement their weekly learning. One test will be given each semester.
Note: A student must be enrolled in an FL class at least 2x per week during the week.
FLUENT 5 – 8 YEARS OLD
FL2T and FL2 (FLUENT CORE LANGUAGE LEVEL 1.5,2; RECOMMENDED AGE: 7-12 YEARS OLD)
This class is drop off.
Students enrolled in this class must be able to write and recognize simple Chinese characters. Each week, we introduce a short article or poem. The main focus is to further develop students’ abilities to form and express sentences and short paragraphs. Required weekly homework includes memorizing and reciting class material, dictation, making sentences in Chinese characters, and writing. There must be someone at home who can support the student’s homework and supplement their weekly learning. Two tests will be given each semester.
Note: A student must be enrolled in an FL class at least 2x per week during the week. In “FL2T” class, students have lighter homework requirement. Students will move to FL2 upon completion of all FL2T homework and tests.
FLUENT 9 – 14 YEARS OLD
FL-3 (FLUENT CORE LANGUAGE LEVEL 3; RECOMMENDED AGE: 9-14 YEARS OLD).
This class is drop off.
Students enrolled in this class must be able to recognize common Chinese characters and write short paragraphs. Students are taught to express more complicated sentences verbally and in writing. Students are exposed to a variety of reading material such as magazines and newspapers. Required weekly homework includes memorizing and reciting class material, dictation, composing short paragraphs in Chinese characters, and writing. Two tests will be given each semester.

SUPPLEMENTAL CLASSES 3+ YEARS OLD
HAN TRIO (3+ YEARS OLD)
In one semester, you get to take Cooking, Art and Science on rotation basis! What a great deal!
In Planet Han’s kitchen, your child will learn about cooking techniques, tools, utensils, and ingredients; and pick up basics of table etiquette, nutrition, and kitchen safety all in Mandarin.
In Art, your child will work with various mediums while learning to speak Mandarin! They will be completely immersed in the magical world of art, and learn to appreciate, create, and express themselves through their artwork!
In Science, we foster a love of scientific discovery and teach your child about the world around them, including life, nature, matter, and the Earth through exciting hands-on experiments.
